Is it still called kidnapping when it's an adult being 'napped?

(Blame M for this!)

I had to check to see what I was replying to, because my first automatic response was to blame M! *headdesks*

No, no, I would blame Teryl for this one too! Your instincts are wrong, at least in this case. *snickering*

No, I know it's Teryl's fault. I've just not blamed her in a while; it's been M's fault, so there we have it!

Although things were K's fault today too. But it was M's fault I was late. That was funny.

I'm fairly *sure we could tangentially blame Torri too. Because why not?

And all the big stuff is M's fault. Yes.

Who are you stealing?
And where are you taking them?

I went to Waterford this morning and when M came in she asked what I was doing there.

Me: I've come to steal!
M: Have you come to steal me!
Me: Only if you want to be stolen! But I think it's kidnapping if I'm stealing a person.
M: But what if that person's an adult...

And I've been thinking about it allll day.

I don't know where I'd take M if I stole her. Hmmm...

*giggles* Perhaps!

You could always call it abduction. The dictionary simply states that kidnap means "to steal, carry off, or abduct by force or fraud, esp. for use as a hostage or to extract ransom.", and isn't specific to children.

According to wikipedia, abduction is used as a term when it's a woman being kidnapped!

You know, I've always wondered that....

*giggles*

Okay, so kidnapping is used even when it's not a child being kidnapped.

Abducted is used when a woman is the victim.

*nods knowledgeably*

So basically, if I stole M, I'd be abducting her. I'd just give her tequila. She'd be fine with it ;)

Hehehe. Actually, she probably would have wanted me to steal her considering she was working late with her night crew whom she doesn't like...

I think so too! She was working late last Friday too and was hiding from them by cleaning the shelves in the back of the store! So I actually ended up helping her -- unpaid, because I am mad. And lack human contact and M is possibly the person I'm closest to in this little area!
